Business Description: Ranch Creek Ltd, was established in 1992 as a pole peeling operation in Granby, CO. Michael Jolovich, General Manager of Ranch Creek Ltd saw the need to utilize the beetle killed timber when the epidemic first started and has exclusively produced all products from blue stain lodge pole pine.
Products and Services: Since 1992, the peeling operation has expanded to include a sawing/merchandising system that cuts and sorts logs into different sizes, and then produces peeled and dowled fence posts and poles. A sawmill produces rough cut timbers and lumber. Ranch Creek Ltd also produces custom house railing, fire wood and mulch. Summer of 2009, a House Log Lathe will go into service to produce log home kits.
Concern or Interest with the Beetle Kill Epidemic: Ranch Creek Ltd, deals exclusively in Blue Stain Lodge Pole Pine. While most of our raw inventory comes form private cuts, some has come from public land. We would like to see more of this timber cut from public land and utilized. The window for using this timber is getting ever smaller with each year. Better forest management would insure inventory for coming years.
